Have you ever feel wonder on NCIS and CSI grainy pixelated images/snaps taken from a CCTV cameras or from other same devices and then finally transforming it into a clearer crystal type images that everything could be identified through that.
It doesn’t work properly in the real life but its creative license that is only made for entertainment. Researchers at Google are at the moment interested in a neural networks-based trial to launch software, which is skilled in doing correctly that.
Google is now concentrating on challenges to clarify neural networks in which that will teach how to capture very low-quality picture and then how to make it high-quality image based on that original low-resolution by using that software. This might be a black magic, but the system basically goes about the process of improving the original picture quality with the aim of creating an image that will be familiar to human eyes.
It looks as though the tam may have generated a little bit that would be able of almost magically generating the data which has been lost and has become the reason to show an image with low-resolution in the first place, but Google prefers to state that it simply “hallucinates” the data, whatever that means. The intelligent and exceedingly impressive system trusts on the use of two neural networks to examine and improve the low-resolution picture that it has been provided with.
The first and important work, that has been provided with the intelligence to recognize and understand about the human face that what actually is and what it looks like, and then charged with the capability to try and seal the gaps. So to speak where necessary. The second important and major aspect of the system is continuous to work out how that resolution image may look compared to a full-resolution version and it always tries to match the image with a higher and better quality version.
In current state and use case, the system is extremely distant from the far-fetched quality and implementation that you will see in cop dramas and Hollywood movies, but it’s actually already being used in a very primary form in Google’s own social network, it seems very interesting to see how this one progresses and how it’s put to use.
